CatSpring AgWorks exists to support the people who do the hardest work and often face the greatest barriers to staying employed.

Our goal is simple. We want to be a catalyst for people who are already showing up, working hard, and trying to build stability. By removing practical obstacles, we help make it possible for work to truly work.

Why CatSpring AgWorks Exists

Over the years at CatSpring Yaupon, we’ve seen firsthand how many challenges people in rural communities face just to stay employed.

Take John (name changed). He worked with us in the fields for two years, showing up every day and earning a living wage. Like many families, his paycheck went toward utilities, healthcare for his kids, and the unexpected costs of everyday life.

What it didn’t stretch to cover was a $100 pair of work boots.

For John, that meant:

• Choosing between basic necessities and proper work gear

• Showing up in worn tennis shoes that weren’t designed for field work

• Replacing cheap footwear repeatedly because better options were out of reach

If you’ve spent time working outdoors, you know how essential proper boots and workwear are. Without them, the job becomes harder, more dangerous, and more expensive over time.

The Boot Bank

This challenge isn’t unique to John. It’s a reality for many people working to move out of generational poverty. When every dollar is already spoken for, basic tools for work can feel out of reach.

That’s where the Boot Bank comes in.

The Boot Bank provides workers in our rural community with essential gear so they can do their jobs safely and with dignity. We started with boots because that’s the need we saw most clearly, every single day.
